This 1959 edition of the Disneyland “souvenir guidebook” features a twenty-seven-page, color-photo tour through the five lands of the Magic Kingdom.

The front cover remains identical to the previous year’s version, save the 1959 copyright information in the lower right-hand corner. The back cover, however, has been converted from a simplified map of the park to a list of attractions categorized by their respective locations.

Attraction additions include The Matterhorn, Submarine Voyage, Disneyland-Alweg Monorail System, and expanded versions of the Motor Boat Cruise and Autopia freeways. Though the updates had been previously featured in the Summer 1959 Special Insert booklet included with the 1958 iteration throughout the first part of the year, the attractions, collectively a part of the major expansion termed by some as Disneyland’s “second opening,” are for the first time included within the pages of the guidebook itself.

Another change includes the Undersea Voyage (which had just opened as Submarine Voyage) being swapped out for Edison Square, a never-to-be-realized addition, in the book’s Dreaming section.
