This post card, sent out by the studio in response to fan mail, features a “Picture Gallery” on the front side of some of Disney’s most popular film and television characters of the time, including Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Peter Pan, Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket, the Seven Dwarfs, Tinkerbell, Davy Crockett and Georgie Russell, Lady and the Tramp, Goofy, the Mouseketeers, Dumbo, Big Roy, Cinderella with Jaq and Gus, Br’er Fox and Br’er Bear, Br’er Rabbit, Chip and Dale, and Donald Duck. The back side of the post card gives recipients simple instructions for turning the artwork into a miniature hanging gallery of Disney stars. Also included is a short message of thanks, as well as a printed secretarial Walt Disney signature. Of special note is the one-line plug for Disneyland (“The Magic Kingdom, DISNEYLAND…now open in Anaheim, California”), which had just opened at the time of the printing of the card.

The post card is a unique collectible, marking one of the studio’s most successful periods, in regard to both film and television projects, as well as their monumental foray into the theme park business.
